Join the members of Mississippi Alpha Phi Delta Theta, students, and members of the Oxford and surrounding communities as we raise awareness for ALS and honor brother and friend, Ralph Doxey, who was recently diagnosed with this disease. Ralph is a brother of Mississippi Beta (MS State) Phi Delta Theta.
Ralph Doxey (Bond# 195) was recently diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. ALS is a progressive, debilitating condition whereby the muscles in the body rapidly deteriorate. There is no known cure and only limited treatment is available. Though his diagnosis came recently, Ralph has been feeling the effects of ALS since early 2013. His speech has already been significantly affected, as well some motor skills.
Ralph was initiated in the Mississippi Beta Chapter of Phi Delta Theta on January 13, 2000. His father, former state senator Ralph Doxey, Sr. is member of the Mississippi Alpha (Ole Miss) chapter of Phi Delta Theta, as was his late grandfather Wall Doxey, who served as both a U.S. Representative and U.S. Senator and is namesake of Wall Doxey State Park. A native of Holly Springs, Ralph is the son of Ralph and Jean Doxey, he is a graduate of Marshall Academy and currently resides in Tupelo with his wife, Megan.
Our goal is to raise awareness for ALS while honoring Ralph by donating 100% of the funds collected and donated in the name of Ralph Doxey to the Mississippi and Louisiana chapter of the ALS Association.
